THE SILENT KILLER - aka GASTRIC CANCER
 
1 in 63 males will be diagnosed.  1 in 151 females will be diagnosed.  The average age is 68.  
My beautiful Mum fell into these odds. 
 
A young (much younger than the 68yr average), energetic, fit and healthy woman with some mild indigestion and a decreasing appetite.  Scarily, these were the key TELLTALE signs.  
 
Gastric cancer is in the top 15 diagnosed cancers and there is currently no screening or test available within Australia.  We want to help raise awareness of gastric cancer and its symptoms and hope this can be used to develop a screening test in the near future.
 
My mum is a fighter - she's strong and so brave - and whilst shaving our head is primarily to create awareness and raise funds for the Cancer Council who have been an amazing support to my family, it's also about knowing you've got a team behind you every step of the way!!! 
 
Please get behind us and sponsor us to shave our heads on 17th December 2018 at 10:30am. You can come along to watch at 493 Main Road, Montrose. Mum will take great pleasure in commencing the shave for the both of us wink
