Running for Louise
Those reading this who knew Louise Leigh will fully understand why we want to run the 2019 Perth Marathon in her memory to help make cancer a thing of the past. Louise was a beloved aunt and friend to both of us and we will never forget the support, guidance and love she has given us over the last two years as we have settled into Perth.
Sadly, Louise was recently taken from her friends and family after a long battle with this awful disease, but not without putting up an inspirational fight to the very end. We want to honour her memory and unrivalled determination with this challenge.
So (possibly against our better judgement) on 6 October, we are running our first 42.195km (or 26 miles and 385 yards for those of you in the UK) in the place that Louise called home for the last 16 years.
We ask that if you have a few spare pounds, pence, dollars or cents, you might consider pledging them to a fantastic cause in the Cancer Council WA. We make no promises as to how fast we'll finish the run, but are hoping we can raise some funds for an organisation that has provided huge support to Louise and her family.
