Raised for a cancer free future

Our goal

In 2024, Terrigal Surf Life Saving will be once again hosting The Daffodil Dip as part of the Terrigal Ocean Swim Classic - a fun 400m 'dip' in the ocean for all ages and abilities!? The Daffodil is the symbol of hope, and the Daffodil Dip will see each swimmer or ‘dipper’ wear a vintage yellow daffodil swim cap to create a visual ‘ocean of hope’ across Terrigal Beach to raise funds and awareness for Coasties impacted by cancer.

Last year, we saw over 300 ‘dippers’ come out and create a beautiful spectacle across Terrigal Beach and 2024 is set to be even bigger. Participants can swim, paddle, wade or just dip into the water! This event is for everyone!

Entry is separate to the Terrigal Ocean Swim and 100% of proceeds of the Daffodil Dip will go directly to Cancer Council NSW – Central Coast.  You will also receive a fundraising page should you wish to support Cancer Council NSW.

Register here to participate in the Daffodil Dip

If you are a cancer survivor, if you have lost someone to cancer, if you know someone who has been impacted by cancer, or if you just want to make a difference, and come together with your community to create hope – then this event is for you!

If you would like to register for the Ocean Swim (1km or 2km swim) OR purchase an Ocean Swim T-shirt, simply click here

This fantastic community fundraising initiative could not happen without the support of Terrigal Life Saving Club, Crowne Plaza Terrigal, Breakers Country Club & Bendigo Bank!

Where the money goes

We want to tackle cancer with all our might!  There are things that we can all do every day to help make this happen.

Every year in NSW alone, more than 36,600 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed, and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant. Together with our volunteers, supporters, stakeholders and staff, we are committed to reducing the impact of cancer on individuals and the community, and to lessening the burden for people affected by cancer.
We are the only organisation that works across every area of every cancer:

  • conducting and funding world-class research that underpins our work in preventing cancer
  • supporting people as they navigate the cancer journey
  • advocating to ensure that governments take action on cancer

We are there not only for those touched by cancer today, but to prevent and manage cancer into the future.

Cancer Council NSW is an independent charity and 94% community funded. Our unique combination of local program delivery, community engagement and national influence enables everyone who cares about cancer to make the biggest possible difference.

If you need support, you can call 13 11 20 or visit our office in Erina Fair.
