F Cancer Fitness Challenge

My Activity Tracking

My target 960mins

31 mins x 31 days

I’m getting active this May to say one thing: F Cancer.

I’ll be getting active for 31 minutes a day for 31 days to raise funds for everyone we know and love impacted by cancer.

Cancer affects almost 1 in 2 Australians by the age of 85.
When I say F Cancer, it’s personal.
Since mid 2021, I‘ve been supporting Dave through his cancer journey. We were (and still are) lucky to have each other to lean on but the reality is, not everyone has someone. Even with each other, we still felt alone and unsupported at times.
By donating to my challenge, you’ll help fund world-class cancer research, prevention programs, and support services at Cancer Council, to support people affected by cancer before, during and after treatment.

Every step, every workout, every dollar raised helps us say F Cancer louder than words.

Please support my challenge and donate today 🌼

My Updates

DAY 31 - GOAL ACHIEVED 💛

Sunday 31st May
I DID IT! 👊🏼
31 minutes of exercise a day for the month of May.
A TOTAL OF $518 RAISED for the F*CANCER, Do it for Cancer, Challenge 🌼

Every step, every workout, every dollar raised has helped us say F Cancer louder than words.

A huge THANK YOU to all my supporters of the challenge, your donations gave me the motivation to keep going 💛 Some days were very hard but then a surprise donation would come through and I’d literally jump onto my mini tramp and jog for 31 minutes.

We have all had to deal with this dreaded disease in some way, shape or form. On a personal level, I’ve lost family and friends in the cruelest of ways. I’ve also been on the journey with my daughter and partner… thankfully, my daughter’s cancer was caught very early and removed. The journey with my partner is still ongoing but he’s doing well. Things were looking up but now we’ve had another blow and someone very close was diagnosed last week 😔

This is why we must fundraise! The treatments are getting better, the side effects of treatments are improving, support is growing and people are winning battles that those long before them didn’t have a chance of winning.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to Dave, Mum and Dad, Matt, Caitlin, Marlene and Andrew, Michelle, Craig, Candice, Kristy, Tina and Aunty Sue. Your support means a lot and won’t be forgotten 🥰

Day 25 - Final week!

Monday 25th May
It’s the final week of the challenge and I only need $47 to reach my fundraising goal of $500 🤩
I’m proud of my efforts so far and would like to thank my sponsors for their support 💛
If you haven’t donated to my F*CANCER Challenge, there’s still time! The QR code on the poster doesn’t appear to be working but this link will take you to my fundraising page.
Thank you! 🌼

DOUBLE DAY 💪🏼

Sunday 17th May
Yesterday morning I woke up feeling physically drained and with a thick, foggy feeling in my head. There was absolutely no way I could exercise 😔
Today, I stayed true to my goal and completed yesterday’s and today’s exercise… a total of 62 minutes. I’m proud of myself for getting through the double session and feel better for it but I will admit, it wasn’t easy 😅
I can honestly tell you that your donations and words of encouragement are getting me through this challenge because for me (for various reasons), this isn’t easy.

To those who have donated and wished me success, thank you! 🤗
To those who can’t support me monetarily, it’s ok! I would still appreciate your acknowledgement of posts and comments of encouragement.
Thank you 🌼

Day 14 - Halfway through the F Cancer fitness challenge 👊🏼

Thursday 14th May
As of today, I’m halfway through the F Cancer fitness challenge! 💪 Every workout is for the 1 in 2 Australians impacted by cancer.
So far I’ve raised $366.77 of my $500 goal so as a thank you to my supporters, I’ve decided to share this pic of me in my sexy workout clothes ♥️ The outfit looks even sexier when I’m wearing my Everlast slides with the long socks but that is a $500 photo. For now, it’s for Dave’s eyes only. Isn’t he a lucky man!? 😜

Please support my fundraiser 🌼

Day 3 - Strength Training

Sunday 3rd May
Strengthening my arms and shoulders using weights and bands (following a program designed for me by an Exercise Physiologist).

Day 1 - My (Mini) Assistant

Friday 1st May
I’m stepping, walking and running on the spot using this mini trampoline.
I have arthritis in both feet so this allows me to exercise without putting too much stress on my feet.
This evening’s session was a hot one so I'm looking forward to the cooler temperatures in the coming week 🌼
*Note to self - warm up and cool down 😅
