I’m getting active this May to say one thing: F Cancer.
I’ll be getting active for 31 minutes a day for 31 days to raise funds for everyone we know and love impacted by cancer.Cancer affects almost 1 in 2 Australians by the age of 85. My dad, grandparents and many friends are currently living with or have lost their battle with cancer so when I say F Cancer, it’s personal.
By donating to my challenge, you’ll help fund world-class cancer research, prevention programs, and support services at Cancer Council, to support people affected by cancer before, during and after treatment.
Every step, every workout, every dollar raised helps us say F Cancer louder than words.
Please support my challenge and donate today.
My Updates
Day 19
Tuesday 19th May Whilst I may not rack up my 31 minutes of physical activity daily, I make up for it with my work. I am a Biological Dental Hygienist which means that I use a chairside microscope to assess my patients bacteria load in their mouths. Bacteria that causes gum diseases can also be linked to 20+ cancers throughout the body. I am one of a growing niche in preventative oral healthcare who can assess this live and in front of our patients and can provide specific treatment and management plans to eliminate these pathogens from the patients mouth and entire body. By being able to detect, identify, treat and manage with our patient's education and home care management protocols, we can reduce their bacterial/inflammatory risk factors relating to cancers. This is why I am so passionate about my role in the whole body healthcare industry- the mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body. Share
Day 4
Monday 4th May Day 4 saw me clock up a 40 minute jog around my suburb. I may not be the fittest or the fastest, but I am passionate about Cancer Council's mission. Every dollar donated goes towards the goal of a cancer free world for all. So stand united with me while we say #FCancer with power and passion! Share
