I’m getting active this May to say one thing: F Cancer.
I’ll be getting active for 31 minutes a day for 31 days to raise funds for everyone we know and love impacted by cancer.Cancer treatments can affect bone density, heart health, mental health, energy levels, cognitive function...and outcomes in all these areas (and many more) are significantly improved by getting active. Regular exercise can also decrease cancer recurrence. Of all treatments available, it has perhaps the lowest side effects and greatest rewards.
I have been affected by cancer in many ways (personally and loved ones), and I am still battling with the side effects of the treatment and loss. Exercise has always played an important role in my life but recently it got too easy to find excuses to opt out.
This May, I am taking inspiration from this campaign and my partner (who is my hero!) to commit to resetting and building a new foundation of strength and cardio fitness. Total bonus if I can raise some funds along the way too!
