For my 30th birthday I’ll be getting active everyday for the month of May in honour of my beautiful Mama

Cancer affects almost 1 in 2 Australians by the age of 85. And my mum and Aunty happen to by one of those statistics.

My mum was first diagnosed last year after a routine colonoscopy that was scheduled and had to endure 3 months of chemotherapy. We thought that was the end of it all. Until last month when we found abnormalities during her routine check up with the PET scan showing signs of stage 4 cancer in her lungs, kidney, cheek & breast. 

One of my dear aunties also battled breast cancer last year, and it did bring some comfort to our families knowing that two sisters weren’t fighting these battles alone and had each other to relate to and lean on. 

So for my 30th birthday, I want to fight alongside my dearest Mama and challenge myself to 30 mins of exercise every single day for the month of May, and request that for my birthday present this year, that you consider donating to my fundraiser so that we can hit the target goal of $300!

By donating to my challenge, you’ll help fund world-class cancer research, prevention programs, and support services at Cancer Council, to support people affected by cancer before, during and after treatment.

Every step, every workout, every dollar raised helps us say F Cancer louder than words.
