This June, my dog is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.
Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.
If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.
My Updates
We’re ready to walk!
Friday 29th May Captain and I are ready to start clocking up the K’s on Monday!! We’ve been doing a few “practice” days and have decided to double our challenge and walk at least 100km’s!!We found out last weekend that a friend has been diagnosed with Leukaemia and is starting treatment immediately. They believe that they found it early enough treat, which is a positive, however our friend has some serious challenges ahead and the next 6 months will be very tough for him.
Unfortunately, he is just one of the many thousands who will hear those same terrifying words… “You have cancer”.
So…that’s why we’re doing this challenge and hope you can find it in your heart, to spare a few dollars, to help the researchers, doctors and other health professionals find a cure and better ways to treat cancer!
