Dog Walk for Cancer 2026

My Activity Tracking

56
kms

My target 50kms

Please sup-pawt me 🐾

This June, Chocco is joining fellow snooflers as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.

Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.

Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.

If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.

My Updates

Day 3 - deep in the feels

Wednesday 3rd Jun

I was deep in the feels, as Chocco and I clocked up another 4kms on our ‘Dog Walk for Cancer’ challenge.

Deep in my feels and lots of thoughts about what we are doing and why we’re doing it…

The thoughts turned into words, and as sometimes happens, the words jumbled themselves into verse…

'I had a little cry today,

As I thought of the Cancer that stole you away.

The insidious disease which left us heartbroken,

With not enough time, too many words unspoken.

It’s callous shadow tore my world apart,

And carved it’s grief deep in my heart.

The pain lingers, along with the sorrow,

Yet my hope still burns for a brighter tomorrow.

Where science and knowledge guide the way,

Where, instead of goodbye…  you could be healed, and stay.'

Day 2 - for Mum (Betty)

Tuesday 2nd Jun
Logging good numbers today with 5.47kms. We skipped the rain, but definitely hit all the puddles, we were a mess when we got home!

I had a little cry as we thought about Mum on today's walk... the Cancer experience that changed my entire world.
My beautiful Mum; kind, loving, independent, resilient, courageous. Almost 12 months exactly from her cancer diagnosis to her last breath. Far too young at only 51, this is the heartbreak that will never heal.

Day 1 - for Shorty

Tuesday 2nd Jun
We've got our first 2.65kms under our belts, despite the rain and wild wintery weather.
We thought about Grandpa Shorty on this walk, my first experience of Cancer - a lovely, kind Grandpa who passed on his 65th Birthday.

Thank you to my suppawters
