This June me and my dog, Archie will be doing the Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change it.
Every kilometre that we walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.
I know firsthand how cancer can impact someone and I’m dedicating this to my mum who died of lung cancer in August, 2024 after battling through it bravely for 14 months. It’s a fitting way to do it, as two of her favourite things were dogs and going for walks.
If you can, please donate to help tackle cancer alongside us.
Cancer Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to the elders past and present and extend that respect to all other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Good on you Gil!
