This June, my dog is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.
Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.
If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.
My Updates
Let’s go!
Wednesday 3rd JunSo… I’ve signed up for the Cancer Council’s 50km challenge.
Now, let’s be honest. Part of this is about raising money for an amazing cause. The other part is about getting myself — and more importantly, Spud — off the couch and moving a little more than the short walk between the fridge and the lounge room.
Spud has recently developed a physique that can best be described as “well-loved”, and if I’m being truthful, I’m not too far behind him. So we’re officially entering our fitness era together. Think less elite athletes and more “slightly out of breath but still trying our best.”
Over the next month, we’ll be tackling 50km one walk at a time, all while raising money for the Cancer Council to support vital cancer research, prevention programs and support services.
And if you’ve been looking for a sign to make a donation, this is it! Tax time is just around the corner, so you can support a great cause and make your accountant slightly happier at the same time.
Every dollar helps, every kilometre counts, and every walk means one less afternoon spent perfecting our couch-shaped bodies.
Thanks for supporting us (and Spud’s weight loss journey). ❤️
