Dog Walk for Cancer 2026

My Activity Tracking

My target 150kms

Please sup-pawt me

This June, my dog is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.

Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.

Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.

If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.

My Updates

Three days of purpose

Sunday 31st May

Picco and I have just completed three full days of walking with purpose, paws and feet focused firmly on our goal…and we know we’re going to smash it 💥

We’ve been taking on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge this June, and every step has been driven by something bigger than us. Along the way, we’ve explored local sights, shared meaningful conversations, and felt the encouragement of a few well-timed rays of sunshine lifting our spirits just when we needed them 🌦️✨

It’s been a beautiful reminder to stay present in the moment…to appreciate the simple rhythm of walking, connecting, and being part of something that truly matters. The community around this cause has been incredible, and we feel genuinely grateful to be part of it.

Picco, as always, has been leading the way in his own special style, and together we’re proud to keep moving forward for such a worthy cause.

Feeling blessed, grateful, and more motivated with every step. 💛

No Excuses - Day 9 Post Surgery: Picco’s Gentle Steps for a Bigger Cause

Wednesday 27th May

For Picco and I, the Dog Walk - Do It For Cancer continues with care, intention, and a whole lot of heart. While we’re keeping walks capped under 5km until day 14 to support proper recovery, that hasn’t stopped us from getting out there twice today. We embraced a super early Melbourne morning, the kind where the air is crisp and still, and everything feels a little quieter than usual. Then later, we headed out again in the evening—rugged up, steady, and grateful to move.

Today’s total: 4.5km

Not fast. Not flashy. Just consistent, mindful movement…on both grass and pavement…keeping Picco comfortable while still showing up for our cancer challenge commitment.

There’s something grounding about these slower days. Every step feels more intentional. Every pause matters. And every metre reminds us why we’re doing this in the first place: for those who are fighting, for those we’ve lost, and for those still walking their own hard roads.

Recovery doesn’t mean stopping. It means adjusting. And today proved that even adjusted effort still counts.

No excuses. Just care, resilience, and quiet determination…one step at a time.
