Please sup-pawt me
This June, my dog is leading the way as we take on Cancer Councilās 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.
Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words āyou have cancerā. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.
If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because itās all of us, humans and pups, in this together.
My Updates
Done and dusted
Saturday 27th Jun Day 27 - $1009 raised Ā for cancer research and 113kms with my pups so far in June. Thank you to everyone for your likes, words of encouragement and donations, it was very much appreciated. My last accountable walk that I am going to post about today. Tomorrow I will just do it without sharing. I am not going to change my day job to influencer!! Share
We made it!
Thursday 25th Jun Day 25 - Yay!!! We made our 100km target. We are going to keep on walking to try and meet our $1000 fundraising Ā target. We are so close. $1000 will fund a lab assistant for 4 days. At the moment I would have to send them home a few minutes early and that few minutes might make all the difference. The beautiful Violet joined us for our walk tonight. Louie was a little nasty to our visitor at the start but by the end Tilly had made a new bestie!! Share
So close
Wednesday 24th Jun Day 24 - So close now, tomorrow night we should clock up 100kms in June to support cancer research. Not in my wildest dreams did I think that we would raise close to $1000 for cancer but here we are. What an awesome group of supportive family and friends I have. Ā Share
Fashion
Tuesday 23rd Jun Day 23 Ā - another day, another poo bag. My new fashion accessory!! I have not attached a pic to prove it š Share
Nearly there
Monday 22nd Jun Day 21 - Tilly, Louie and I have just reached 90kms of our 100km walking challenge for cancer in the month of June. 10kms to go. Thanks for following us and for those who have supported us on our journey to raise money toward cancer research .Ā Share
Beach days
Saturday 20th Jun Day 20 - The dogs and I were happy to be back on the beach today after the weather, work and tides made it difficult the last couple of days. Ā Our happy place. Not far from our 100km target now, for June.Ā
Wet weather walking
Friday 19th Jun Day 18 and 19 - work and the weather got me on day 18 and there were no walks. I thought that Tilly and Louie would be so excited tonight but apparently the rain š§ļø was a deterrent for Louie. We eventually encouraged him out of the car and got a wet 5500 steps in tonight. Oh and witnessed a traffic accident. Everyone was fine just a little shaken which added some excitement to our walk. Share
A wet day walk
Tuesday 16th Jun Day 16 - the new coat came in handy for todayās wet day walk.Ā Share
Half way
Monday 15th Jun Day 15 - Iām Ā at the half way mark and more than half way there. Hereās to finishing strong! Share
Whereās my walk?
Sunday 14th Jun Day 14 - We squeezed our walk in today after a weekend away. Louie was anxiously awaiting our arrival fearing there was going to be no walk today. Share
Who am I?
Saturday 13th Jun Day 13 - who even am I?? 3.6kms before sunrise on dreary, raining Saturday morning! Thanks to everyone who has donated so far and keeping me accountable ā¤ļø Share
Angel and devil
Friday 12th Jun Day 12 - a good and a bad dog joined me on my walk today. We drove home via the dog wash after the bad dogs escapades! Share
Beautiful night
Thursday 11th Jun Day 11 - A night walk this evening in the CBD for a change.Ā Share
Consistency
Wednesday 10th Jun Day 10. - some days itās just about consistency and showing up and sometimes you surprise even yourself . I didnāt want to be walk at all, committed to 2 but then made it to my daily target. Thatās a small win today.Ā Share
True crime
Tuesday 9th Jun Day 9 -some walks are for putting your air pods in and blocking out the day for an hour and just getting it done. Share
Poo bags
Monday 8th Jun Ā As I enter week 2 of my 100km dog walking journey for June I am reflecting on how many š© bags I have used. Horrified when one of my walking buddies decides to choose a VERY public spot today in front of a big audience. Ā š¤¦āāļø Share
Road trip
Sunday 7th Jun Day 7 - Morning beach walks and mid road trip strolls meant 2 walks for dogs today. We will all sleep tonight. Share
Dogs choice
Saturday 6th Jun Not all walks are āDogs choiceā walks. Donāt get me wrong, they would choose ANY walk but the beach is their happy place (I can relate, especially on a tropical vacation with cocktail in hand). Dogs choice walks usually involve lots of stopping to read āpee mailsā, throw sticks or balls and if given a tiny bit of encouragement a swim. They are not about the pace but the journey! Share
Another day
Friday 5th Jun Ā getting it done for Cancer research and the dogs donāt mind a single bit! Share
Thanks!
Tuesday 2nd Jun Big thanks to those Ā who have donated so far, this motivation got me out of the house on a cold, wet and windy night and added to my step total. Thank you šĀ Share
