Please sup-pawt me
This June, my dog is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.
Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.
If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.
My Updates
Walkies number 7!
Wednesday 10th JunIf you can even call it that. Honestly. What a !disappointment.
It rained. Heavily. The whole time.
It was dry when Whiskey walked right up close next to me, but honestly the big umbrella just made that option untenable. I should have put that away so that he could walk with me in the dry.
Then we got home and I made him wear a stupid jumper.
Can’t even play football because the backyard is underwater.
What a joke. Minus 5 out of 5

Walkies number 6!
Tuesday 9th Jun Today was better.Although I’m still insisting on turning around and going home, which really does just seem ludicrous I know.
Thankfully we got to meet and play with a few new doggo friends at the beach, and while we were waiting for the kids to get out of school Whiskey was able to efficiently supervise a herd of wild bin chickens (pictured). They were on the other side of the fence…. But honestly without him it was clearly going to be chaos.
Lucky we went today really - 4 out of 5 ⭐️

Walkies number 5!!
Monday 8th JunRubbish was the general feedback from Whiskey boy. Absolute rubbish.
I constantly walked in the wrong direction. Absolute madness. I’ve no excuse, he tried to tell me by dropping to the floor and using his body as a natural anchor any time I went the wrong way. Still did not listen.
Then it rained. What a disaster!
I should be ashamed. -1 out of 5 for today’s effort

Walkies number 4!
Sunday 7th Jun After taking an unauthorised trip to Brisbane sans Whiskey dog, we were back to walking again today with a shortie but a goodie!Lots of good sniffs with time for lots of wees and even 1 💩.
Kiddos took their scoots so Whiskey even got to do some chasing! Lots of bonus bird and doggo spotting at our park stops too.
Bands back together - 5 out of 5 walk ⭐️

Walkies number 3!!
Wednesday 3rd Jun Feedback on this one was excellent!Today we went back to the school to pick the kids up, and even though he didn’t get to go in to play, he did get lots of pats from the kids as they were coming out! He was a very happy boy.
Racing home after the scooters was also points winning.
Cuddles and chasing. 5 out of 5 for today’s efforts.
Walkies number 2!!
Tuesday 2nd JunWalkies number 2!!
Feedback was not as good as yesterday. This walk had lots of stops and each one was filled with abject disappointment.
We got to stop for the kids, but couldn’t go play at the school.
We got to go to the beach, but not run around like an insane sand gremlin because our recall is less than stella.
When we got to soccer, we couldn’t play with the soccer balls and the kids only had crappy snacks to share. Best was apple.
Then finally when we got home attempts to play football out the back were ignored.
Yeah, alright. At least we went - 2.5 out of 5

First walk today!
Monday 1st Jun I think the feedback from Whiskey was pretty pawsitive. It was a 2 💩 walk today and he managed to wee on and sniff almost every tree and pole. We had a quick splash in the lake and there was lots of good bird watching opportunities.Minor tantrum following a miscommunication at the 5km turn around point - Whiskey would have preferred to continue walking forward until we just naturally succumbed to exhaustion. Overall good though - 4.5 out of 5 walk.
