This June, my dog Bunya is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.
Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take is for something bigger than us. With every wag, walkies, and sniff stop, Bunya and I are putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that truly matters.
This is especially close to my heart, as my grandmother passed away from cancer last year. Every kilometre we walk is in her memory, and for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer.”
Every dollar we raise will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs, and vital support services for those impacted.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to keep our paws moving and help us make a difference. Because it’s all of us—humans and pups—taking this on together.
Cancer Council acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to the elders past and present and extend that respect to all other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Cancer Council NSW is registered with the Australian Taxation Office as an Income tax Exempt Charity. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
