Hi everyone π
This year Iβm taking part in the Dog Walk for Cancer challenge alongside my dogs, and every step we take is in memory of my dad, who we sadly lost to cancer.
Cancer impacts so many families, and ours is one of them. Losing Dad changed my life forever, so this challenge means more to me than just going for walks β itβs about honouring him, raising awareness, and supporting research that could help other families avoid the same heartbreak.
Over the next month, me and the dogs will be walking our hearts out, sharing the journey, and hopefully making a small difference along the way πΎ
If youβd like to support us, whether through a donation or simply sharing this page, it would truly mean the world to me.
Thank you for being here and walking alongside us π
My Updates
Day 13
Saturday 13th Jun Day 13 πΎAfter missing a couple of days thanks to the weather, it felt so good to get back out there today. Dudley, Dottie, Angus and I absolutely smashed out 12.11km together!
We were treated to some pretty special sights along the way too β kangaroos chilling in the bush, plenty of birds keeping us company, and some beautiful views over the lake. Days like this are a good reminder that sometimes the best adventures are the simple ones.
The dogs had an absolute ball, the company was great, and while my legs are definitely feeling it now, it was 100% worth it.
12.11km done and dusted. Onwards and upwards! πΎπͺ

Day 10
Wednesday 10th Jun Day 10 πΎπA shorter walk today, with Tash and I taking a wander around Two Rocks after spending most of the day hanging out with Mum in hospital.
Tash was the best girl as always. She enjoyed a bit of people-watching, investigating all the interesting smells, and checking out the new shop that's opened in town today. πΆπ
The weather was putting on a show too. We were treated to some pretty incredible rain clouds hanging around King Neptune, which made for a beautiful end to the day.
Not every day is about smashing huge kilometres. Some days are about spending time with the people you love, getting outside, and keeping the challenge moving forward one step at a time.
Every step this month is still for Dad. π

Day 9
Tuesday 9th Jun Day 9 (Walk 2) πΎπWalk number two for the day and this one was a solo mission.
Sadly dogs aren't allowed in hospitals, so it was just me walking from Perth Eye Hospital to Mum's hospital. I figured if I was heading that way anyway, I may as well get some extra kilometres in for the challenge.
Those hills nearly finished me off though! π
Whoever designed Perth clearly wasn't thinking about tired legs.
A total of 5.21km for the day so far and every step is still for Dad. π

Day 9
Tuesday 9th Jun Day 9 (Walk 1) πΎπA shorter walk this morning, smashing out 1.5km with Marshall and Frankie before taking Poppy to his appointment and hopefully heading in to see Mum later today. Hopefully there'll be another walk or two added to the tally before the day is done!
Marshall was fully locked in for his walk, headphones on and ready for business. π§π Meanwhile Frankie spent the entire time having very important conversations with every bird she spotted along the way. π¦π£οΈ
Not every day has to be a huge one. Sometimes it's about fitting the walk in where you can and just keeping the challenge moving forward.
Every step this month is for Dad. ππΎ

Day 7
Sunday 7th Jun π Day 7 πAnother beautiful beach walk today, this time with both Dudley and Tash by my side. πΎπ
There's something about being by the ocean that just makes everything feel a little lighter. The fresh air, the sound of the waves, two happy dogs, and a chance to slow down for a while.
Today we clocked up 2.44km together, with plenty of sniffing, exploring, and enjoying the sunshine along the way.
One week down already, and I'm so grateful for everyone who's supported, donated, shared a post, or cheered us on. It truly means the world. π
As always, every step is for Dad.

Here's to another week of walks, wagging tails, and making every step count. πΎπ

Day 6
Saturday 6th Jun π Day 6 πToday we made up for yesterday and then some! πΎπͺ
We squeezed in not one, but two walks today.
Walk number one was an adventure with Dudley and Dottie. Along the way we made a quick pit stop to visit my poppy, who is the dogs' great poppy. Of course, no visit would be complete without a special cookie for the dogs πͺπΆ
Later on, Dudley and I made a quick stop at my mum's place to say hello to his nanny before heading back out and smashing out some more kilometres together.
By the end of the day we'd clocked up 7.41km! π
Safe to say my legs are definitely feeling it tonight, but it was worth every step.
One of the best things about this challenge has been the excuse to spend more time with the people (and dogs) I love while doing something meaningful.
As always, every step is for Dad. π

Today we definitely showed up. πΎπ

Day 5
Friday 5th Jun π Day 5 πToday didn't go to plan.
Between life, poor time management, and the day getting away from me, I didn't make it out for a walk.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in myself, but this challenge was never about being perfect. It's about showing up, doing your best, and getting back on track when things don't go to plan.
So tomorrow, me and the dogs will be lacing up our shoes and walking double to make up for today's missed kilometres. πΎπͺ
β¨ "Progress isn't ruined by one bad day. It happens when you give up. And we're not doing that." β¨
Day 5 may have been a miss, but Day 6 is a new day.
We'll be back, we'll walk double, and every step will still be for Dad. π

Day 4!
Thursday 4th Jun π Day 4 πToday's walk was with my girl, Tash πΎ
It was one of those days where staying home would have been the easier option, but we got out there anyway.
So we headed down to the beach for a little walk to clear our heads, get some fresh air, and reset.
And I'm so glad we did.
2.38km, salty air, sunshine, and the best company a girl could ask for.
Tash was an absolute superstar today. She stayed calm, listened beautifully, and reminded me that sometimes all you need is a good dog and a walk by the ocean.
This challenge isn't about perfect days. It's about showing up, especially on the days when it's hard.
And just like every day this month, every step was for Dad. π
β¨ "Some days you need a long walk, a good dog, and a reminder that you've got this." β¨
Today, we found all three. πΎππ

Day 3
Wednesday 3rd Jun π Day 3 πTonight's walk was with Dottie by my side. πΎ
If I'm honest, it could have easily been a day where I didn't walk at all. I've been feeling a little under the weather, and the motivation wasn't exactly there.
But I showed up anyway.
2.14km, a beautiful sunset, and a reminder that progress isn't always about big achievements. Sometimes it's simply about putting one foot in front of the other when things feel hard.
This challenge isn't about being perfect. It's about showing up, even on the days when you don't feel your best.
And just like every day this month, every step was for Dad. π
β¨ "Some days all you can do is keep moving forward β and that's enough." β¨
Today wasn't easy, but we got it done. π

Day 2
Tuesday 2nd Jun π Day 2 πToday's walk wasn't my longest, fastest, or most exciting walk.
Just 2.52km with Dudley by my side, stopping every five seconds to investigate important sausage dog business πΎπ
But that's okay.
This challenge isn't about being perfect. It's about showing up. Some days we'll smash out the kilometres, and some days we'll just do what we can.
Today we showed up.
Every step is still for Dad, and every kilometre still counts. π
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Your encouragement means the world.
2.52km down, plenty more to goΒ

Day 1 π©΅
Monday 1st Jun Mr Dudley was more interested in sniffing absolutely everything than setting any speed records, but we got our first walk done and dusted πΎThank you to everyone who has already donated, shared my page, or sent words of encouragement. Your support means more than you know.
Here's to a month of walking, remembering, and making a difference. π

1 day to go!
Sunday 31st Mayπ Tomorrow is the day.
Me, Tash & Dudley maybe featuring Dottie! are officially kicking off the Dog Walk for Cancer challenge in memory of my dad.
Cancer took him from us far too soon, and not a day goes by that I don't think about him. This month, every step we take is for Dad.
We'll be sharing our walks, our progress, plenty of dog photos, and hopefully raising some money for a cause that's close to my heart.
If you'd like to support us, donate, share, or simply cheer us on, it would mean the world. πΎπ
