Dog Walk for Cancer 2026

My Activity Tracking

25
kms

My target 50kms

Please sup-pawt me

This June, Herbie is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.

Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.

Every kilometre Herbie and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.

If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.

My Updates

First week done and dusted!

Sunday 7th Jun
We've made it to the end of the first week.
14 kms walked and have we exceeded our fund-raising goal of $500.
Thank you everyone for your support x
Herbie went to Blackmans Bay beach today for his walk

Six Days In

Saturday 6th Jun
As expected, Thursday was a write-off with the weather and work commitments (the two "W"s), but Friday and today we made up for lost time and are just about keeping to schedule.
Multiple walks today with Herbie, Belle and Wynn all having  turns :-)

Day 3

Wednesday 3rd Jun
Super lucky with the weather - no rain when I finished work, so time to go walkies!
Herbie has been jumping out of his skin - he definitely is feeling better.  So I took him to Kingston Beach for a nice flat walk.
When I got home, Belle had a quick trot around.
A combined effort today thanks to Herbie and Belle :-)
We're up to 6 kilometres - more than a 10th of the way there <LOL>.

Day 2

Tuesday 2nd Jun
I took advantage of a break in the rain to take baby Wynn (11 months old) for a quick 1 km walk after work. Managed to get back just as the rain was starting up again. Probably no walkies for the next couple of days as the weather is going to get wetter and colder. Hopefully back out again on the weekend with Herbie.

Day One!

Monday 1st Jun
Well, we have made a start.   Just over 2 kilometres with Herbie's aunty, Belle.
A little hike, close to home, at the Boronia Hill Reserve.
The weather was dry, which  is not going to be the case for the rest of the week if the weather forecast is correct!   May have to get creative to keep up the k's!

One day to go!

Sunday 31st May
Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far.
Tomorrow is the start of the challenge and, of course, there's been a hiccup in our preparations!
Yesterday Herbie manage to hurt himself  :-(   It doesn't look serious, and he's already looking better today, but to be on the safe side, he is being side-lined for the first week or two of the challenge.
Luckily he has other doggie family members who are willing to take his place.
So there's no getting out of it for the human!!
