Lessgooo Breast Cancer Awareness

We're taking on an epic challenge this October – and we need your support.

This October, we’ll be walking 58 km to raise awareness about breast cancer and support the search for better ways to prevent, detect and treat it.

For me, this walk is about more than just a number. It’s about every person and every family that has had to face breast cancer. It’s about the women who are affected by it, the families who stand beside them, and the people who may not even realise that they could be at risk.

I truly believe ignorance isn’t bliss. Sometimes, it’s the first step towards a problem becoming bigger than it needed to be. Awareness, knowing your risks and getting the right checks can make a huge difference.

And to the men reading this please don’t think breast cancer is something that has nothing to do with you. It could be your mother, your sister, your partner, your daughter, or someone you love deeply. Men can also carry genetic changes that increase the risk of breast cancer and pass those changes on to their children without ever knowing. We may not be the ones who experience the disease in the same way, but we absolutely have a role in understanding it, talking about it and helping the people we love stay informed and safe.

We spend so much of our lives chasing things careers, money, success, goals, and a better future. But when health starts to deteriorate, all those things suddenly become secondary. You realise that being healthy, and having the people you love healthy, is what really matters.

I’m not doing this because I want to raise money for the sake of raising money. I’m doing it because I want more people to stop, think, learn about breast cancer and take it seriously. I don’t want anyone to go through the pain of this disease simply because they didn’t know enough about it or didn’t realise they could be affected.

The money raised through this challenge will help support cancer research, prevention and support services including research into new ways of understanding and fighting cancer.

And if you’re able to donate, even a small amount, I’d be incredibly grateful. But if donating isn’t possible, that’s completely okay. Take the challenge with us in your own way. Go for a walk. Share this. Talk to someone you love about breast cancer. Get informed. Every step towards awareness matters.

Thank you to everyone who has joined, and thanks again for even taking the time to read this.
