Letās raise awareness for breast cancer together this October š©·
Each day, 58 people in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer. On the 25th of August this year, I was one of those people.Ā
In honour of my recent diagnosis and October being breast cancer awareness month, I will be walking 58 kilometres across the month to help spread awareness and raise money for future research and support services.Ā
Any contribution - big or small - is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping to support improved outcomes for all those people who have been and continue to be affected by breast cancer each day.
Breast cancer does not discriminate against age, gender, family history, or your current health status which is why itās impact is so widespread. This is also why early detection, education, and awareness is our biggest strength in not only fighting - but winning - the battle against cancer.Ā
So please, take this as a reminder to check your breasts for any changes and advocate for anything that doesnāt seem right to you - my own situation would have looked a lot different if I didnāt do these things myself.Ā
