I’m taking on an epic challenge this October – and I need your support.

I’m taking on a 58km walking challenge for the 58 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer every single day, and to help fund the next breakthrough in cancer research.

October is already a special month for me - it’s my birthday month! So it feels meaningful to use this month to do something that can make a difference for others.

A very close, beautiful friend of mine was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. When I found out, I was devastated. She lives a long way from me, and over the past few months she has been facing something no one should have to go through.

I also know personally how important regular screening can be and that has made me very aware of how important early detection, research and ongoing support are.

But this walk isn’t about me. It’s for my beautiful friend, and for every person who has heard the words “you have cancer”, as well as the families and loved ones who stand beside them through it.

The official challenge is 58km, but I’ve decided to set myself a little extra goal — I’m aiming for 80km over the month. Let’s see how I go… 😉

Every donation to my challenge will help Cancer Council fund cancer research, prevention programs and support services for people affected by cancer before, during and after treatment.
