Walking for Mum 💗
In October, I’ll be taking on the 58 km walk to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research, representing the 58 Australian’s diagnosed with breast cancer every day. 💗
This challenge is incredibly close to my heart. My beautiful mum was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer when I was just five years old. At the time, my dad was preparing for the possibility that he may have to raise three young children on his own within a two-year timeframe. It was an incredibly scary and uncertain time for our family.
But Mum has continued to defy the odds. She has been through so much and yet she continues to be the strongest, most amazing person I know. She has shown so much strength, courage and resilience over the years, and I couldn’t be prouder to call her my mum. 🩷
I’m doing this walk for her, her beloved friend who passed a few years ago to breast cancer, for my family, and for all the incredible individuals and families affected by breast cancer. I’m also doing it in the hope that one day, fewer families will have to experience the fear and uncertainty that comes with a diagnosis like this.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps and means so much to me and my family. 💕 Every step of those 58 km will be for Mum and for every person fighting this horrible disease.
