This June, my dog is leading the way as we take on Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge.

We’ve chosen to take on this walk to help raise awareness and hope to raise funds to support further research for rare cancers.

My dad passed away in June of 2022 from complications of bladder cancer at the age of 59, right before his 60th birthday after surgery for a sarcoma that had been detected. He had 6 months from finding the cancer to his passing.

July 2025 our 10 year puppy also fell victim to cancer as well.

Only 2 months after the passing of our pup, we had a pup in need of adoption and he, with all his energy will be leading the walk not only for his brother he couldn’t have along with him, it’s also for his pop he never got a chance to meet. He’ll be walking with strength along side myself and anyone who will come and join our team to reach our  goal of raising money for further research.

Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by age 85, so every step we take will help change that. With every wag, walkies and sniff stop, we're putting one paw in front of the other for a cause that matters.

Every kilometre my pup and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or will hear, the words “you have cancer”. And every dollar we raise together will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.

If you can, please donate to keep our paws moving and help tackle cancer alongside us. Because it’s all of us, humans and pups, in this together.
