Walk for Maryam ❤️
Hi friends,
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year I’ll be walking 58 km throughout October in loving memory of my beautiful sister and forever bestie, Maryam, who left us last year after living with metastatic breast cancer for six years.
Losing Maryam has left a void in my life that words can’t quite capture. Yet her memory lives on forever in my heart and in the hearts of our family. Her courage, strength, kindness, and light continue to inspire me every single day.
Breast cancer is one of the cancers where early detection can make a significant difference, which is why it’s so important to remind the women we love to know their bodies, be aware of any changes, and stay up to date with recommended breast screening. A simple check or screening appointment can sometimes make all the difference.
I’m walking 58 km for the 58 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer every day, and in the hope of helping fund research that can lead to the next breast cancer breakthrough, so that one day, fewer families will have to experience a loss like ours.
Every kilometre I walk is for Maryam, for the women and families affected by breast cancer, and for hope for a future where metastatic breast cancer is no longer a life-limiting disease.
