Walk 2 - Newport Lakes

Monday 5th Oct

I completed section 2 of the Walk for Cancer with a 4 km ramble around Newport Lakes.

There was so much to appreciate along the way. The bush was alive with birds and birdsong, dragonflies flittered above the lake and thousands of tadpoles swarmed between the rushes on the lake’s edge. We even startled a fish lurking in the shallows, no doubt hoping to make some of those tadpoles its lunch!

But, the best part of this walk was the company ☺️ Thank you to Russell, Elijah and Jen for joining me and making the walk so enjoyable 💞 And thank you again to those who have donated 💞

A wet way to start ☔️

Monday 5th Oct

First 5 km behind me after a wet walk along the Maribrynong. Not many others out braving the weather, but plenty of ducks with clutches of ducklings, all sorts of water birds and a few soggy rabbits to keep me company 🦆 🐇🚶‍♀️🌧️💞
