Run for breast cancer 🏃♂️
This October, Linh and Michael are running 58kms to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
Michael is currently doing his PhD in cancer research, focusing on understanding how breast cancers develop resistance to standard treatment and developing new strategies and interventions to restore therapeutic response.
For Linh, this cause hits close to home, unfortunately losing her grandpa to cancer earlier in the year.
Statistically, 1 in 7 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Despite significant therapeutic breakthroughs, the rate of diagnoses and deaths are still rapidly increasing. Annual breast cancer deaths are projected to reach 1.4million globally by 2050.
