Please sup-pawt us!

This June, Marley and Olive are lacing up their imaginary sneakers and leading the way as we take on the Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer challenge 🐾

Sadly, almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, which means this cause touches so many families, friends and loved ones. Β

This month, with every wagging tail, walkies, new adventures and extra-long sniff stops (Beagle X problems), we’ll be putting one paw in front of the other to help make a difference. Β

Every kilometre Marley, Olive and I walk is for everyone who has heard, or one day may hear, the words β€œyou have cancer”. Β Every dollar raised will help fund life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and essential support services for people impacted by cancer.

If you’re able to donate, we’d be so grateful for your support in helping keep our little paws moving.
Together, humans and pups alike, we can help tackle cancer, one step at a time πŸ’›πŸ’™

Weekday Walks πŸ‘£πŸΆ 🐢

Monday 15th Jun
Rain, hail, windy or shine… We keep on track with our weekday neighbourhood walks!

Those 2km walks around the block really do add up, and the girls absolutely love their new roles as β€œneighbourhood watch” πŸ‘€

So far… We’ve spotted horses, birds and even a bunny rabbit 🐴πŸ₯🐰

Day 15Β β€’ 33/50kms complete #dogwalkforcancer

Week 2 β€’ 31/50kms complete πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Monday 15th Jun
Another big week of paws hitting the pavement!

The weather really turned it on over the weekend, to round out Week 2 of Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer πŸ’™πŸ’›

In addition to our (almost) daily 2km neighbourhood laps during the work week, on Saturday we enjoyedΒ one big long walk with Team Mother Puppers πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ€β€πŸ‘©πŸ»πŸΆπŸΆπŸΆ

Olive & I, alongside Ali, Zed & Sunny walked 9.5kms along Newcastle Foreshore. Taking on Honeysuckle to the end of the Breakwall return, via Customs & Queens Wharf Hotel 🏨

In addition to the usual chaos of walking 3 dogs, we had to ensure:
🍸 We met the required number of margarita stops
🍴 Enjoyed a delish lunch at QWH

All whilst managing an escape artist that goes by the name of Olive Moon!! Β
Lucky, Aunty Ali jumped right in & scooped Oli up after a kind couple asked… β€œIs this your puppy?” 🫣 #mortified

Currently, I’m still here wondering how she got out off her harness, but also 100% ready for the week ahead!

Your support means the absolute world to us, so if you could, hit that β€œdonate” button. Β As every single $ counts.

Stay tuned as we adventure in to Week 3 πŸ‘£πŸƒ

Time to β€œStrut our Stuff”!

Tuesday 9th Jun
Within the first couple of days, the chaos of twisting leads got the better of Mum πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ•Β πŸ•

Enter… Leash splitter and new lead. Β Now our paws are going to be hitting the pavement like we own it #gamechanger

One happy Mother Pupper!

20/50km now complete πŸ’™πŸ’›

Week 1 β€’ 18/50kms complete πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Tuesday 9th Jun
We eased in to Days 1, 2, 3 and 4 with a nice and easy 2km lap around the neighbourhood each day. Β Filled with plenty of sniffs, pats from neighbouring doggos, horses and even some bunny rabbits.

Days 5, 6 & 7 consisted of one big long walk with our besties, and other half of Team Motherpuppers Ali, Zed and Sunny πŸ’™πŸ’›

On Day 7 we took on a mighty 10km return trip from Speers Point Park to Warners Bay Esplanade. Enjoying the most delish lunch at Home At The Bay…

And we may have indulged in a sneaky Margarita & Copenhagen icecream to top it off 🍨

This is 1,000,000% what you call making the most of the long weekend, all whilst doing it for a cause so incredibly close to many of our hearts!

Olive, Zed and Sunny loved their first adventure together, with only a slight bit of chaos (lead tangles within the first minute πŸ˜…πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜), lots of sniff stops and plenty of pats from strangers.

Marley did decide to sit this one out, as her little 11 year old Beagle X Mini Foxie legs weren’t quite up for the distance. Β But she assured us that she was cheering us on from the comfort of the lounge at home.

So far Marley, Olive & I have raised $182 out of our $1000, and Team Mother Puppers has raised a whopping $1100 out of their $2000 goal πŸ₯Ή

1 week down, 3 to go #letsdothis
