My target 58kms
I’m taking on an epic challenge this October – and would love your support.
The 58km represents the 58 Australians who hear the words “you have breast cancer” every day — and this year in June, I became one of them.
I was diagnosed with a Grade 3, aggressive breast cancer tumour, which thankfully was surgically removed in July. Unfortunately, I required a second surgery to remove additional surrounding tissue to ensure clear margins before continuing on my treatment journey.
My next chapter begins this October, when I commence chemotherapy.
Whilst I undergo this treatment I have decided to take on the 58km Walk for Breast Cancer — a challenge that means so much to me personally. 💗
I know it won't be easy, but light exercise is recommended to help support recovery during treatment, and I wanted to turn something incredibly difficult into something positive and meaningful.
Throughout this journey, the support I have received from my family, friends, work colleagues and my incredible medical team has been phenomenal. I am so incredibly grateful for every message, phone call, hug, check-in and kind word I have received.
There is another organisation that has supported me in ways I never truly understood the importance of before — Breast Cancer Care WA.
From their weekly check-in calls and emotional support, to wig services, peer support groups, activities and additional services specifically supporting mums with cancer, the care they provide has humbled me. Knowing that these services are available when you are navigating something as overwhelming as cancer has made such a difference to me and my family.
I want to help ensure these services continue to be available in the future, so that other women and their families can access the same support, care and sense of community that I have been so fortunate to receive.
💕 If you are able to support me and my cause, I would be incredibly grateful.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Breast Cancer Care WA continue providing this vital support to people affected by breast cancer.
Thank you for walking this journey with me. 🎀
Thank you to my supporters
