Lakeshores Legacy: because cancer touches us all 💛

By Lakeshores Accommodation

Help Lakeshores create a cancer free future!

At Lakeshores, family has always been at the heart of everything we do.

This year, we’re fundraising for Cancer Council Australia, with a special focus on women’s cancer, in honour of our much-loved Pop, Mark Hellier, the founder and CEO of Lakeshores, and for everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Mark started Lakeshores back in 1996 after seeing a need for family-style accommodation around Lake Macquarie. What began with a single holiday unit grew into the business it is today through hard work, curiosity, and genuine care for people. Lakeshores wasn’t just his business, it was his passion.

Cancer affects so many families, including our own. At Lakeshores, we are incredibly fortunate to work alongside so many strong, hardworking, and inspiring women every day. Supporting increased funding for cancer research is vital for everyone, but it’s especially important to us to help drive awareness, early detection, and better outcomes for cancers that disproportionately impact women.

This fundraising effort is our way of coming together, remembering Pop, supporting the women in our lives and communities, and giving back to an organisation that supports individuals, families, and communities through some of their hardest moments.

Join us for some baked goods, popcorn, and a screening of Jim Henson's "Labrinth"  at Scotty's Cinema Centre. We’ll be sharing time together, sharing stories, and raising funds to help Cancer Council continue their vital work, particularly in women’s cancer research and support services.

Doors open at 1:30pm on March 15th, with the movie set to start at 2:30pm.

Thank you for being part of the Lakeshores family and for supporting something so close to our hearts. 💛💙💛
