We’re co-hosting a fundraising trivia night in support of the Cancer Council’s Girls’ Night In with our beautiful and energetic friend Erna (@Simplycheecky). This event is personal to her, and we’re honoured she asked The Wednesday Night Club to be part of it.
Last year, Erna had an unexpected medical emergency. When she shared her experience publicly, so many people reached out with their own stories. She wrote:
“Last year, my life changed in a way I never expected. No warning signs. No symptoms. Just being told I needed major surgery after an ultrasound.
When I shared my story, the response was overwhelming. Women opened up about diagnoses that seemed to come out of nowhere and how little information they were given beforehand. To be clear, I didn’t have ovarian cancer. But I did have a serious health scare that required major surgery and showed me just how easily things can be missed.”
We are now aiming to raise $1000 for the Cancer Council, and we’re proud to support her.
