As Christians, we are called to love one another and to bear
each other’s burdens. Walking together as a Parish is not simply an act
of endurance, but a living expression of our faith in action. Just as Christ
walked among the suffering and the poor, we too step forward in compassion and
love, offering our efforts for those who are struggling with cancer. Every
kilometre is a prayer, every step a sign of hope, and every stride a commitment
to be present with those who suffer.
Our Orthodox faith reminds us that true love is not only
spoken, but shown in deeds. The Apostle James tells us that “faith without
works is dead,” and so we walk to show that our faith is alive and active.
Through this journey, we unite our parish family and wider community in a
common cause: to raise funds and awareness for those affected by cancer. We do
not walk for ourselves, but for those who carry heavier crosses, offering them
encouragement, support, and love.
This walk is more than a fundraiser — it is a
pilgrimage of faith, hope, and love. As the Parish of St Sophia and her Three
Daughters, we honour their witness of wisdom, faith, hope, and love by carrying
their virtues with us on this journey. May every donation and every prayer
along the way bring light to those facing darkness, healing to those who are
unwell, and strength to families who need it most. Together, as one body in
Christ, we can make a difference.
We're challenging each other to get active to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future.
Because 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, we're putting our body to the test to raise funds and show our support.
Please sponsor us to support cancer research and provide vital services for Australians living with cancer.
Thank you for your generous donation. Together, we can free the future from cancer.
