I’m doing it for cancer!

Hi, I'm Abi!

I’m challenging myself to cut my hair to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future. 🩷✂️🎗️

Because 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m losing my locks to raise funds and show my support. 

My goal is to raise $5,000 for cancer research, cancer prevention programs, and support services for those affected by cancer.

You see, I never fully understood the impact of cancer until my grandpa passed away from cancer when I was just 6 years old. It was very sudden because by the time he was diagnosed, the cancer had spread to both his stomach and liver and he became terminal.

Even though I was very young at the time, I saw how cancer shifted and changed the life of my grandpa and those supporting him. Cancer took a toll and he unfortunately declined in health and was gone after just 1 month and 7 days. I knew that he loved us and that he loved God and I saw how my family clung to that truth and were brought together even more, even at his passing.

That was 14 years ago.

In remembrance of my grandpa and other family members, I want to do my part in helping give someone the gift of a second chance.
