My target 1000kms
1000km Ride for Cancer
I am a 77 year old Wife, Mum and Nanny. On the 29th September, 2020 my beautiful man (husband of 50 years) Rob, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. When he began chemotherapy and his hair fell out I had my hair shaved off. Whilst Rob was going to be faced with many challenges, what he calls “the potholes” in the road he is travelling, I wanted to challenge myself to do something. I will ride 1000 km in 10 days and hope that I can raise money for the Cancer Council WA. Rob is such an inspiration, is nearly always upbeat and maintains his wicked sense of humour. This is for him, the love of my life.
I also have a close friend from school days at Albany Senior High School who is battling Breast Cancer. Elaine Wilson, who lives in Coworamup, was diagnosed in the 90’s, had a mastectomy and reconstruction, went into remission for many years, however, in 2016 Elaine was once again back on chemotherapy. Elaine is also an amazing, bright, bubbly person with such a positive outlook. I am proud to be her friend.
Whilst these two incredible people battle their cancers, we can battle for them and raise money for cancer research. Your support and generosity is appreciated and I thank you in advance.
