In Honour of Mrs Maureen Charlesworth

By Jermaine Peters

Maureen Charlesworth was a remarkable woman. Nothing was ever too much and nothing stood in her way. She even took her diagnosis of aggressive lung cancer in early 2020 in her stride. Not one to 'worry anyone about it', she kept her diagnosis mostly private.

Beginning cancer treatment is a daunting time for anyone, even with family around. One resource that helped Maureen understand her cancer and the treatments she would be receiving were information books from the Cancer Council. She thought the Cancer Council was 'just great' for having made these and wanted to help in supporting them.

Unfortunately Maureen lost the battle with cancer on the 21st May 2020. We are asking that instead of floral and other tributes at her funeral, please consider donating any amount you can to the Cancer Council through this page set up in her honour.

Thank you for your support to help the Cancer Council provide support and assistance to people and families in their cancer journey.

Thank you to my Supporters

Maureen was a dear friend, who meant so much to us all. Her presence was calming, her attitude was caring & practical but always had a contagious laugh in anything she did. We will treasure our special memories together, she will be sorely missed. Love Siri, Lalani & Chamira
