I’m doing it for cancer!

I am Clara, a Sydney-based abstract photographic artist. Following my debut solo exhibition, Water’s Awakening, at Gallery Lane Cove earlier this year, I am delighted to bring my work to Gordon Library.
Like so many, I have seen beloved family and friends deeply affected by cancer. Supporting the Cancer Council is a cause very close to my heart, and this exhibition is my way of honouring those touched by the disease and contributing to vital research and care.
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy jōzen wa mizu no gotoshi—the highest good is like water—my work captures the fluid energy, light, and motion of water, blurring the line between reality and imagination. These observations are brought to life as abstract photographic giclée prints on archival cotton rag paper.
For this exhibition, the library space is transformed into an intimate sanctuary for quiet contemplation and emotional connection, bridging tactile fine art with immersive media. You can explore a selection of archival artworks up close, alongside an atmospheric projection showcasing my meditative artistic process.
All displayed artworks will be available at exclusive studio prices. Extending the restorative essence of my art into meaningful community care, 15% of all proceeds from both the exhibition and online sales on www.jozenart.com until 30 September 2026 will be donated directly to the Cancer Council.
I invite you to come and immerse yourself in a moment to pause, experience my artistic process firsthand, and explore the opportunity to acquire unique artworks while supporting a worthy cause.
