DO IT FOR KITTY
I’m challenging myself to bring back the bob to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future.
Almost 2,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. Mothers, daughters, aunts, and wives - living their everyday lives - are suddenly thrust into a fight they never saw coming.
If caught early, the five-year survival rate is over 80%. But ovarian cancer is rarely detected early. There is no reliable screening test, and symptoms are often silent. Because of this, survival rates are nearly halved by the time most women are diagnosed.
This is not good enough.
Just before Easter, my Aunt Kathryn - our Kitty - was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Not because she ignored the signs, but because there were none to find. Like more than 70% of women, her diagnosis came too early for early intervention.
Every year, over 1,000 women lose their lives to this disease. That’s 1,000 families changed forever.
We can do better.
Increased fundings means more research. More research means earlier detection. And earlier detection saves lives.
Today, we do it for Kitty.
Tomorrow, we do it for every Women.

So proud of you !!!
