I'm doing it for cancer!

Distance should not equal disadvantage when people are diagnosed with cancer. Well-funded supports are vital for people living in rural and remote areas to access life-saving treatments.

It was important to dad that he work to help make sure there are better outcomes in the future for people with lung cancer. I will be walking to keep that work going and help to ensure better outcomes for people, not just with lung cancer, but for people across rural and regional South Australia who need to travel for cancer treatment.

When he was working in Adelaide, Dad and I would walk to and from work together, giving a chance to chat about the day, the highs and the lows. It feels appropriate to recognise and remember him with a walk.

My 100km route

Thursday 31st Jul
It's taken a little while, but I have created a 100km route for my walk. Leaving Cancer Council SA headquarters and heading towards the hills, then walking the length of Linear Park. 

Arriving at Henley Beach and taking the Coast Park Path north to North Haven, before heading South to Jetty Road Glenelg. 

The final leg will be back to 202 Greenhill Rd via ANZAC Highway.
