I’m doing it for cancer!
Hi everyone,
As a lot of locals may know, my in-laws in Burringbar have been, to put it lightly, decorating all nooks and crannies of their home every Christmas for the past few decades, which has become quite the tradition. If you have been on the rail trail any time between October and January each year, you will know the house I refer to.
Each year, they spend countless hours bringing this work to life. Planning begins as early as September, with weeks of decorating, testing and perfecting every detail to create a display that brings joy to the community. It has brought in visitors from all over the region and even interstate to admire and marvel at their celebration of Christmas. A few visitors in the past have tried offering donations out of pure respect and appreciation of the HUGE efforts put in, so this year we would like to put this to a great cause.
From now until the end of January, we are raising funds for Cancer Council Australia to support people and families affected by cancer. Every year, more than 150,000 Australians are diagnpsed with cancer, and almost everyone’s life is touched by it in some way. Together, we can help fund vital research, prevention programs and support services for those who need it most.

Or drop a donation in person when you visit the Burringbar Christmas display this December and January. There will be a donation box as well as a QR Code for the fundraising page.
