Mercedes Ponytail Chop 2026

This year I will be doing the Mercedes College annual ponytail project where students are invited to cut their hair to make wigs for cancer. 

Last year Mercedes raised an unbelievable $41,000 and it couldn’t have happened without the 30 students and most of all the support from family and friends within the Mercedes College community.

I’m challenging myself to chop my hair to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future.

Unfortunately 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m losing my locks to raise funds and show my support.  

I am specifically cutting 25cm of my hair because my family and friends have all been heavily impacted by cancer at least once in their life. I have seen how hard it can get for someone living with cancer and how it can affect an individual or a group of people. 

By doing this i am hoping to raise funds for cancer research and giving someone my hair to hopefully make them feel more supported and confident while on their journey.
