Greg’s cherry sale

Our story

Greg opened the gates to his family-run orchard and invited the community in for a ‘pick your own cherries’ experience, all to raise funds for people affected by cancer.

“With the pressures of work and family life, it’s not always easy to find time to give back,” Greg said. “Partnering with Cancer Council meant I could do both.”

“With our family being affected by cancer, it’s a cause that’s close to our hearts.”

By welcoming visitors to the orchard, Greg created a day that brought people together while supporting a meaningful cause.

Cosy Cuppa Batemans Bay

Our story

After losing several close family members to cancer, including her son Sam, Sophie chose to turn her grief into action.

She started Cosy Cuppa Batemans Bay, a community fundraising initiative bringing people together through morning teas and handmade creations.

“Before my son died, I made a promise to raise awareness about melanoma and prevention. It’s now a passion of mine,” Sophie said.

Through her events, Sophie has created a space for connection, conversation and support, while raising funds to help people affected by cancer.
