I am thrilled to introduce you to the eleven incredible ladies who are joining me in the fight to cut cancer by cutting their locks on June 2nd! This initiative is close to our hearts, and we are determined to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

Our Mission

Our mission is twofold:

1. Raise Funds for Cancer Research, Support, and Prevention Services: Every dollar raised through our campaign will go towards vital cancer research, providing support to those battling this disease, and funding prevention services to reduce cancer risk.

2. Donate Hair for Wigs: The hair we cut will be donated to Sustainable Salons, an organization that creates wigs for individuals who have lost their hair due to illness. These wigs provide comfort, confidence, and a sense of normalcy during a challenging time.

Meet the Courageous Cut Cancer Team

Allow me to introduce the eleven wonderful ladies who are taking part in this meaningful cause:

From Left to Right:

1. Connie: My niece, who generously put her hand up to cut her beautiful thick locks to fundraise.
2. Belinda: After losing her father to cancer, Belinda understands the importance of fighting for a cancer-free future.
3. Rochelle: Having lost family members to this dreadful disease, and as a primary school teacher and mother of two, Rochelle is an amazing example to children about the power of giving.
4. Irene: Irene's enthusiasm is contagious. Having lost her brother, whose larger-than-life personality is so deeply missed, she is a vital part of our team.
5. Kylie (me): Fourteen years as a Cancer Council SA ambassador, and my goal remains firm - losing one more life to cancer is one too many.
6. Athena: A mother of four, the most supportive of friends, her commitment to helping others always shines through.
7. Alexia: Our youngest team member at nine, Alexia was one of the first to jump at the chance to grow her locks to make a difference - what a special little lady!
8. Hannah: Another one of my beautiful nieces, Hannah's generous and supportive spirit always shines through.
9. Maggie: Hannah's niece and my great-niece, Maggie, is another little superstar who at nine is already giving back to the world!
10. Anita: My sister, after losing our mother to pancreatic cancer, Anita always jumps in to support fundraisers and help rally the community around us.
11. Sandra: Once a colleague, always a friend, Sandra has a heart of gold and is always determined to help those around her.
