I am Ashleen Khela, 11 years old, Australia’s youngest published author. I am raising funds by selling my debut book ‘17 Stories’ to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer-free future.

Background:: I came up with my own funds to meet the book publication costs. For this, over two years, I collected and recycled used plastic/glass bottles and cans at NSW recycling stations, planted and sold mango, guava, jacaranda and yucca plants and broke open my many years’s old piggy bank. Few years ago, I visited underprivileged kids living in roadside hovels and shacks in India, to donate bananas. My fiction story book is inspired by meeting these kids, for whom, a banana was like a big treat. 

Because 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, we're donating all proceeds to show our support.
