Instead of a party
For my significant birthdays instead of a party I do a
registered Cancer Council fund-raiser. My challenge to our student leadership
team is to reach $2000 of donations and I will shave my head at the first
assembly in Term 3. David Sinclair is joining me and no doubt our family and
friends will also contribute to the total. For this challenge I am feeling grateful because:
- For me this is a choice, it
isn't for some people with cancer.
- My hair will grow back, or at
least I hope it will!
- I am just crazy enough to do
this.
- It will generate conversation
and a few laughs.
It won't be pretty, but that's the point, neither is
cancer. And before commenting about how grey my hair is when it grows back.....
for those who dye their hair, remember that underneath that dye yours is
probably grey too 😊
