I’m doing it for cancer!
My Grandfather was a lifeguard and then a Firefighter so was out in the sun all day when SLIP, SLOP, SLAP wasn’t even a thought. He eventually succumbed to a melanoma on his head. However, the diagnosis and treatment gave him another 5 years before he passed away at 91 years old!
I recently moved from NSW to Far North QLD, where the sun certainly likes its presence known!
I moved up here for work, at the Tassal Prawn Farm, where I spend most of my day out in the sun.
This has made me be aware of sun safety and an appreciation for the research into the prevention and cures of cancer.
I’m challenging myself to shave my hair to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future.
Because 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m losing my locks to raise funds and show my support.
