I'm doing it for cancer!

I’m challenging myself to compete in the Lake Macquarie Sprint Triathlon to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer-free future.

Very recently, my fiancée lost her father - John - to an aggressive form of lung cancer. The primary tumour was detected as part of a routine check-up, but his extensive treatment proved to be unsuccessful, in a case of ‘too little, too late.’ 

Please sponsor me to support cancer research, so that cancer is detected and diagnosed before it’s too late.

4 days to go!!

Wednesday 4th Mar
With just a few days to go until the event, I’m feeling excited & anxious about the challenge ahead. I’ve stuck to my training plan & feel like I couldn’t be any more prepared physically, but all the unknowns of a first triathlon are making me nervous. I keep reminding myself of why I’m doing this & I feel lucky to have the privilege of good health. The challenge I’ll be facing on Sunday is nothing compared to the challenges Cancer patients & their families go through. They’re brave & they inspire me to make the most of my life

Fundraising update

Wednesday 18th Feb
With 2.5 weeks to go until race day, I’m excited to say that I’m almost halfway to my fundraising goal of $1,000! Thanks again to everyone for your very generous contributions!

My training is coming along well & I’m quite surprised about what I’ve managed to achieve already. Having very little swimming & cycling experience, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in such a short time. It hasn’t been easy sticking to my training plan, but this fundraiser has definitely helped to motivate me when I’ve felt like giving up.
