I’m doing it for cancer!
I am creating a fundraiser to help raise money for cancer and I have also decided to contribute by donating 30cm of my hair to a sustainable salon to create wigs for individuals who are in need. This may include people with cancer or other health problems such as Alopecia or Trichotillomania. In particular Cancer and Trichotillomania are very close to my heart. Many of you may know that my nan passed away to Cancer in 2022, I struggled with her passing as we were so close. She would always tell me how much she would love to have hair like mine. She would put my hair over her head and pretend to use it as a wig. I also personally struggle with Trichotillomania, it’s a condition where you have the urge to pull your hair out for a number of reasons. During year 7 and year 8 I was so embarrassed because I had to go to school with bald patches because of this condition, I just couldn’t help it due to a stressful time of my life. If you remember me during this time please try to forget ?? I finally built up the courage to cut my hair for my nan but Im also cutting my hair for myself and all those people out there who struggle with health conditions that can be so crucial to their personal image. By raising money and contributing to making a wig this helps individuals who suffer with an illness such as cancer.
1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m cutting my hair to raise funds and show my support.
