Hair We Go Again: the Ginger Edition

I’m doing it for cancer!

Cancer doesn't discriminate, and it has touched my family more than once over the past couple of years, leaving behind its undeniable mark. Through it all, I’ve carried something that has always made people smile—my hair. As a ranga, I’ve spent a lifetime being complimented on my fiery locks, told many times, “You can’t buy this colour!”

Now, I’m choosing to give it away. I’m cutting it off and donating it to the Cancer Council to help create wigs for those who lose their hair during treatment—because while cancer takes so much, it shouldn’t take away the confidence, dignity, and comfort that a simple head of hair can bring.

I do this in honour of two extraordinary people who have faced cancer with strength beyond measure. If my hair can bring even one person a moment of joy, a glimmer of hope, or a reason to smile, then it’s worth every strand.

It costs nothing to be kind, and this is my way of paying it forward in the hope that others may be inspired to do the same, in their own way.
